Cogeneration is a strategic, sustainable and efficient choice.

Would you be interested in a feasibility analysis for a solution that could turn into a highly competitive asset for your company?

Come and find out about it at Ecomondo “The Green Technologies Expo” in Rimini, from today until Friday 8 November – Booth 024 – Hall B5D5.

You will have a chance to meet our specialists and obtain personalised advice, in real time. During Ecomondo, there will be plenty of opportunities for in-depth analyses on topics including cogeneration, trigeneration, and “Capacity Market Power Stations” at the convention promoted by Italcogen ANIMA (Hall B5 Booth155), and hear a success story that begins with designing the ACEA Tor di Valle Cogeneration Plant in Rome – which has given us solid expertise to develop standard modular system solutions for over 20MW plants. Thanks to this expertise developed over time, we have recently secured a major contract for the construction of a 50MW cogeneration plant in Cottbus, Germany.

Come and see us at our booth 024 in Hall B5D5, to find out about all our cogeneration and trigeneration solutions, modelled on your own requirements for a strategic and sustainable choice.

Foundation stone of the new Teapak facility laid. Cefla overseeing project as General Contractor:

Today saw the laying of the foundation stone of the new TeaPak (Yogi Tea Group) production facility.

As general contractor, Cefla will be overseeing the entire project: from the building of the facilities to the planning and installation of latest-generation systems. Covering approximately 12,000 m2, the facility will be built in Imola’s industrial district, alongside our own headquarters.

Teapak is the European hub for the blending, sachet filling and packaging of herb teas made under the Yogi Tea brand. Our President together with Andrea Costa, Managing Director of Teapak.

Cefla for Conserve Italia: a new cogeneration plant

Case History Conserve Italia: un nuovo impianto di cogenerazione | Cefla Impianti

The Conserve Italia plant in Massa Lombarda, in the province of Ravenna, now has a new electrical cogeneration plant, designed and built by Cefla Plant Solutions in the record-breaking time of just five months, including connection to existing plant systems.

The company, internationally renowned for successful brands such as Yoga, Cirio and Valfrutta, can now count on a plant that supplies 80% of its factory electricity requirements while, thanks to the cogenerator, reducing carbon emissions by 1,211 tons per year, or 515 TOE (tonne of oil equivalent). The overall efficiency of the cogeneration system is approximately 70%.

This plant, designed and developed by Cefla (which also has a long-term service contract to ensure its maximum reliability and performance over time) consists of a cogeneration unit producing 2.0 MWe, generated by a reciprocating gas-fuelled engine (Otto cycle) directly coupled to a three-phase synchronous electric generator. The unit was supplied complete with all the auxiliary devices needed for operation and a containment package designed to dissipate the radiant energy of the engine and reduce noise. Heat retrieval is made possible by a steam generator (powered by the engine exhaust fumes) and a heat exchanger on the engine cooling circuit.

“We are very thankful to Conserve Italia for choosing us as their partner on this important project”, states Roberto Cocchi, manager of Cefla Plant Solutions. “It’s a choice that reinforces our position as the leading plant engineering solutions provider to key firms in the high-end Italian agro-industrial sector”.

Cefla takes part in Oracle Cloud Day in Milan

On 14th November in Milan, Cefla Plant Solutions participated in Oracle Cloud Day, the key event for digital transformation within companies and for the new frontiers of Industry 4.0.

During the day at the MiCo – Milano Congressi, a variety of meetings and conventions were held, which addressed the fundamental transformation taking place within organisations in the financial sector and the large supermarket chains, and the consequent operational changes required in work flows in order to achieve greater transactional efficiency.

In this regard Alessio Monni, Cefla Order Management, illustrated the case of Elettrica Roma Nord, a consortium company operating in the Utilities sector, in which Cefla has a 51% interest.

Elettrica Roma Nord has implemented an Oracle ERP Cloud system for handling processes relating to finance, the purchasing cycle, warehouse, sales reporting, cost accounting and work order management.

The project went live in 3 months together with a series of related services including warehouse goods inwards, the booking of invoices for goods and services and the handling of payment certificates. A bespoke application was developed using an extension of the Oracle Cloud platform for handling work orders, to enable management monitoring, and, finally, an order reporting platform was created using the Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service.

Cefla Plant Solutions at Cibus Tec to present trigeneration

Retrieved energy can ensure refrigeration down to -40°C, a perfect solution for many food companies, starting with the fruit and vegetable and meat processing sectors.

IMOLA. Cefla Plant Solutions’ cogeneration and trigeneration systems were illustrated at the 51st edition of Cibus Tec, one of the main technological innovation fairs for the agro-industrial sector, held in Parma from 25 to 28 October 2016. At the event, Cefla Plant Solutions – the leader in industrial and civil engineering plants – presented two technologies, both designed to improve energy efficiency and thus reduce costs and environmental impact. More specifically, a trigeneration plant allows, in addition to the production of electricity, retrieval of a part of the heat produced by the thermodynamic transformation. This can provide refrigeration at temperatures as low as -40°C. This new feature is particularly useful in all food applications where sub-zero storage is required or, for example, where foods, such as fresh meats, need to be stored at controlled temperatures.
“Trigeneration is a technology that we’re keen to develop for our customers”, explains Stefano Cocchi, Cefla Plant Solutions Area Manager. “Until now it was little known and under-developed in this market sector and the prospects are exciting. This is a market where we have already completed major projects, starting with the construction of a plant for an American company working in the vegetable sector”.

Cefla Plant Solutions at Tecnargilla 2016

Foto Tecnargilla 2016Tecnargilla, the last edition of which was held in Rimini from Monday 26th to Friday 30th September, is the world’s biggest ceramic and heavy clay fair.

his was the event’s twenty-fifth edition, a milestone for an international fair – jointly organised by Rimini Fiera and Acimac (Italian Association of Ceramic Machine and Equipment manufacturers) – that showcases ceramic and heavy clay manufacturing technologies.

This year the fair attracted over 500 exhibitors (displaying over an area of 80,000 m2; the fair has grown by 7% compared to the 2014 edition of this two-yearly fair), all showcasing the very best technological innovation currently available on the market. Of these, over 40% were non-Italian, coming from some 25 different countries, the most represented of which were China, Spain, Germany, Turkey and Portugal.

Needless to say, Cefla was there too (Hall 1, stand 199) to talk about cogeneration in the ceramic industry and to put forward and assess the best possible solutions together with customers.
