Cefla Plant Solutions at Cibus Tec to present trigeneration

Retrieved energy can ensure refrigeration down to -40°C, a perfect solution for many food companies, starting with the fruit and vegetable and meat processing sectors.

IMOLA. Cefla Plant Solutions’ cogeneration and trigeneration systems were illustrated at the 51st edition of Cibus Tec, one of the main technological innovation fairs for the agro-industrial sector, held in Parma from 25 to 28 October 2016. At the event, Cefla Plant Solutions – the leader in industrial and civil engineering plants – presented two technologies, both designed to improve energy efficiency and thus reduce costs and environmental impact. More specifically, a trigeneration plant allows, in addition to the production of electricity, retrieval of a part of the heat produced by the thermodynamic transformation. This can provide refrigeration at temperatures as low as -40°C. This new feature is particularly useful in all food applications where sub-zero storage is required or, for example, where foods, such as fresh meats, need to be stored at controlled temperatures.
“Trigeneration is a technology that we’re keen to develop for our customers”, explains Stefano Cocchi, Cefla Plant Solutions Area Manager. “Until now it was little known and under-developed in this market sector and the prospects are exciting. This is a market where we have already completed major projects, starting with the construction of a plant for an American company working in the vegetable sector”.
