For years we’ve been exploring issues relating to energy efficiency, process efficiency and resource optimisation. The result: the EN VISION suite.

The 90-year Cefla story is the story of an encounter with Efficiency. In the Symposium that Plato dedicated to Love, we’d be called upon to praise “our passion for Efficiency”, a topic that has involved us like no other all these years. Efficiency has become the driving force behind our most innovative projects. It has allowed us to help our customers achieve their most complex goals.

The Predictive Factory – a term coined by our partner, MIPU – is “a factory where machines, people and processes are connected online and where the thus-gathered data is used to predict near-future phenomena to gain a competitive advantage”.

What’s it for?

Building on its extensive in-the-field experience of managing power generation plants, and after having resolved many of our customers’ issues, the creator of the GENERA application, MIPU, designed the first of our efficiency-enhancing software platforms: just a few screens that summarise the data needed to manage power and heat production plants correctly.

Who can benefit from it?

GENERA was initially an evolution of Scada, a system control and monitoring software. Today, it’s an indispensable tool for managing cogeneration and district heating plants. However, it also has enormous potential when applied to mixed-generation (i.e from renewable to conventional fuels) and multi-site plants.

What advantages does it offer?

By using the IoT (Internet of Things) and, therefore, sensors installed in the field, GENERA provides users with a comprehensive overview – all on a single screen – so they can check their power plants are running properly, ensuring they comply with regulatory standards.


OPTIMA is an optimisation system based on data harvested by the GENERA application: data that’s crucial for analysis and decision-making.

What’s it for?

OPTIMA is an optimisation system based on data harvested by the GENERA application: data that’s crucial for analysis and decision-making. It combines AI models with IoT systems and uses an optimizer to save fuel and reduce CO2 emissions. To improve its performance and keep on growing with the customer, it requires ‘constant daily training’.

Who can benefit?

Energy producers who already have the GENERA application can implement OPTIMA with the aid of AI. Those set to benefit the most from the GENERA + OPTIMA combination are companies with high energy consumption and variable loads over time; users will always be able to count on room for improvement.

What advantages does it offer?

Costs remaining equal, OPTIMA maximises energy production, guaranteeing user requirements. The system focuses on plant management and optimisation, savings and higher productivity: it aims to maximise economic returns. The solution is scalable but expresses its greatest potential in energy-intensive contexts. The result is a faster return on investment, making the solution of immediate interest. Normally the ROI period is between 9 and 15 months, defined via pre-operations assessment.


Complete with software and hardware, the FABRIKA system helps companies optimise management of their assets in a range of industries.
